Do you feel like it's a challenge to connect with others? Do you feel lost or stuck? Are you anxious, depressed, or lonely? Do you feel like you're not living up to your potential? It feels like you should be able to get more out of life. Or perhaps you're in a romantic relationship that feels stuck. Neither you or your partner feel understood. You are both having a hard time communicating with each other or you feel distant. You try to make the relationship work but it generally turns back into the same argument. You want more out of the relationship. I work with men, women, teens, and adults to develop solutions that stick. Some therapists put an emphasis on listening and others have an expert opinion. As a therapist I am somewhere in between and flex with my client's needs. I believe my clients are capable but sometimes are not aware of their tools to process their experiences. In sessions I listen, and we explore and define problems and come up with solutions.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The biggest indicator of success in therapy is finding a therapist you believe in, trust, and feel supports you. Often, this is a therapist who feels like they could be a friend. But sometimes we need them to step into other roles as well—parent, sibling, mentor, or coach. Whatever the case, if the therapist feels like someone you could see yourself spending time with outside of therapy, there's a good chance they're the right fit for you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My goal for sessions is that they feel like a conversation with a point. In the first few sessions, we're developing our relationship. I believe you are the expert on your life, and I hope to collaborate with you. At first I ask a lot of questions, and do a lot of listening. Usually, you can expect to see me with my computer out, taking notes. I'm also likely going to be bouncing ideas off of you to make sure I'm aligning with you. It's okay to tell me I'm wrong so that we don't waist time going in the wrong direction.
