Hi there, I'm Christy! Hello, I look forward to meeting you. I am Christy Fuller, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with a Master's in Social Work from San Diego State University. My approach I use cognitive-behavioral therapy, providing skills and practice between sessions, a systems approach, mindfulness-based treatment incorporating breathing and relaxation techniques, trauma-informed care, and motivational interviewing. My focus I generally work with adults or children/teens who have experienced trauma or loss, including death, divorce, job loss, or housing instability. I support those facing or expecting life changes and needing guidance to navigate them. I have worked with Veterans, Refugees, LGBTQ individuals, and those experiencing substance use alongside mental health and chronic health issues. My communication style I create a calming and stable environment. Sessions may begin with deep breathing or a short meditation to help focus and relax. I provide empathy, support, and attentive listening to your needs, along with feedback and suggestions. My journey to mental healthcare I became a Social Worker in 1990. I chose this path because it allows me to work in diverse settings, including outpatient mental health therapy, school systems, healthcare clinics, and outreach. My extensive experience helps me guide others regardless of their background or situation. I enjoy learning what makes each person unique. My drive comes from working together as a team to celebrate successes and the goals you achieve.
