You may look like you have it all together on the outside, while privately feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in patterns you cannot seem to change. Maybe you are carrying the weight of past experiences, struggling in your relationships, grieving a loss, or realizing that the ways you have always coped are no longer working. I believe therapy is about more than talking about what happened. It is about understanding how your experiences have shaped the way you think, feel, respond, and connect with others—and learning how to create something different. I work with adults, adolescents, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship challenges, life transitions, and emotional stress. My approach is warm, direct, practical, and individualized. I use evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches, including CBT and EMDR, to help clients recognize unhealthy patterns, regulate difficult emotions, process painful experiences, strengthen relationships, and develop practical tools for lasting change. You do not have to wait until everything falls apart to seek support. If you are ready to better understand yourself, heal from what has been weighing you down, and take positive actions toward healing, I would be honored to walk alongside you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me is not about coming to therapy week after week just to talk about the same problems. We will work together to understand what is keeping you stuck and develop practical strategies to help you move forward. My style is warm, engaging, and direct. I will listen without judgment, but I will also ask thoughtful questions, help you recognize patterns you may not see on your own, and gently challenge you when those patterns are getting in the way of the life or relationships you want. You can expect our sessions to have purpose. We may explore where certain thoughts, behaviors, or emotional responses began, but we will also focus on what you can do differently now. I want you to leave sessions with greater clarity, useful tools, and something meaningful to work on between visits. You do not need to have the right words or know exactly where to start. Come as you are. We will figure out the path forward together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Your first session is about understanding you, not just your symptoms. We will talk about what brought you to therapy, what has been happening in your life, what you have already tried, and what you would like to be different. From there, we will identify the patterns, experiences, and stressors that may be contributing to what you are experiencing and create clear goals for therapy. I believe you should understand what we are working on and why. Ongoing sessions are collaborative and purposeful. We will check in on what has happened since your last visit, explore challenges or progress, and focus on the areas that need attention that day. Depending on your needs, sessions may include processing past experiences, challenging unhelpful thoughts, learning emotional regulation or communication skills, strengthening boundaries, or practicing new ways of responding to difficult situations. As you make progress, we will regularly revisit your goals and adjust our approach. The goal is not to keep you in therapy forever. It is to help you develop the insight, skills, and confidence to create lasting change beyond the therapy room.
