Getting to know Cindy Johnson
Cindy is a licensed professional counselor with ten years of experience. She received her Masters Degree from Mississippi State University. Cindy specializes in working with blended families. She obtained a step-parenting counseling certification at the œSmart Marriages workshop in July of 2002 in Dallas, Texas. Her counseling experience includes adults, adolescents, and children on an individual basis as well as family counseling. Prior to going into private practice, Cindy worked as a therapist at Mental Health and Mental Retardation Services with adults and children. Immediately after receiving her Masters Degree, she worked at Baptist Memorial Hospital in the inpatient psychiatric and chemical dependency facility in Columbus, Mississippi.
œThe crux of experiencing a fulfilled life is determining one’s value system and living congruent within those values. Living outside of those parameters often results in problems such as depression, anger, and low self-esteem. My goal in counseling is to help individuals tap into their own strengths in re-directing their energy into a more productive and higher quality of life.
