Claude is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with individuals on issues such depression, anxiety, trauma, identity, men's issues and people in the midst of crisis. Claude has specialized training and immense experience in working with adults and individuals of different sexualities, genders, and racial backgrounds. He has a particular interest working with those who identify as LGBTQ, as well as with members of the BIPOC community (Black, Indigenous, People of Color). Building a therapeutic alliance takes time, and vulnerability. Claude fine tunes his approach to each person in front of him. He believes that everyone has the answers to life’s toughest questions and that we often need a safe space to come to our own conclusions. During your sessions, he will work with you to develop practical strategies that empower you to understand and challenge inequities in your life. Through the use of evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, ACT, and DBT, we will build a support network that fosters resilience and creates sustainable paths toward healing and empowerment. Claude practices from a person centered and holistic approach, which emphasizes creating an affirming, empathetic, and validating space to help you work through barriers to personal thriving. ?Claude earned his M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Bridgeport and is currently a counseling psychology Ph.D. student at Loyola University Chicago. In his leisure time, he has recently embraced dance. He also enjoys reading comic books, checking out local music venues, and exploring all things pop culture. Originally from Connecticut, Claude loves connecting with family and friends through various means and discovering new ways to actively engage in advocacy work in his new home, the city of Chicago.
