Getting to know Claudette Guider

Hello and Welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania, holding a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor's degree from Shippensburg University. For the past 15 years, I have worked with adolescents and adults in outpatient, school, family, and community settings. I specialize in supporting those who have struggled with domestic abuse and experience symptoms of trauma such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, low self-worth, mistrust, and hopelessness by helping them find their purpose and their "WHY." I assist individuals who find it difficult to navigate toxic or unhealthy relationships, whether professional or personal. I work with clients experiencing emotional pain from past trauma and help them break free from that pain so they can regain their spark and power. Working with me, you will transform your emotional trauma into strength. I have successfully helped clients write their stories?now published books?about their past trauma. Sharing these stories has encouraged others to open up and seek the help they need, as there is power in connecting with others facing similar struggles. Again, it's about transforming emotional pain into power and strength. My focus is to help you heal, energize, and become aware of your inner strengths. I provide a neutral, safe space where I listen to your concerns and customize a treatment plan tailored to you. As a mental health therapist, I am here to empower you to see yourself as a being with a powerful life story. As we embark on your therapeutic journey together, you will always take the lead?after all, you are the expert on your own story. I may not always have the answers, but I will create a safe space for you to find them yourself.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy with me will help you become the best version of you by helping you see yourself in a different light. I will help you work through the fears which could often be the barrier for CHANGE! You will begin to uproot the old seeds and plant new ones. I utilize the holistic approach where I could help you find balance with your mind, body, and spirit, which are all important aspects of self-care and being the best version of YOU! Because each person has different issues and goals for therapy, I tailor my approach to meet your specific needs utilizing a variety of therapeutic approaches, including CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), person centered therapy, strength based, trauma informed care and mindfulness techniques, all of which will help you focus on changing your life in powerful ways.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, I begin by conducting an initial assessment to gather information about your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy. This assessment may involve questionnaires, and psychological assessments to gain a comprehensive understanding of your mental health needs. Subsequent sessions, either weekly or biweekly, my goal is to build a strong therapeutic alliance by establishing trust and rapport by creating a safe and non-judgmental environment where you will feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings. In general, you can expect to discuss the current happenings in your life, your personal history relevant to your issue, and report progress (or any new insights gained) from the previous therapy session or outside your session. I like to utilize research, exercises, books, and other resources in our sessions and I usually have you work on these skills outside of therapy. By the time our journey is completed together, the goal is that you act as your own counselor!

Don’t see your insurance?

It’s common for mental health providers to be out-of-network. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network coverage, so you may get partially reimbursed. Learn more

Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
Initial session: $175 for 60 minutes
Ongoing session: $135 for 60 minutes
  • Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront

More information on payments and coverage

For billing/insurance verification purposes, I utilize either Headway or Grow Therapy. **Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
