Claudia Sabino, LCSW

Claudia Sabino, LCSW

Psychotherapist
NY
I am a bilingual English-Spanish psychotherapist and clinical consultant in New York with extensive experience in outpatient mental health settings and private practice. I grew up and initially trained in psychodynamic approaches in Buenos Aires, which has the highest number of therapists per capita in the world. Later, in the US, I earned a Master's in Applied Social Sciences from Case Western Reserve University and a Post-Master's Certificate in Infant Mental Health and Trauma from Adelphi University. I also trained in relational, family, and behavioral modalities. My work is now more attuned to the client's needs than to any one specific modality. Life transitions such as divorce, loss, career changes, family conflict, and, in general, anxiety and depression have been at the core of my clinical work.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is direct, non-judgmental, insight oriented, and solution focused. My ethical commitment is to help people identify their goals, explore honestly their feelings, own them, and built from this a sense of self-affirmation and fulfillment that will take them where they want to go and live the way they want to live.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

You can expect me to ask questions, offer ideas, reflect to you what I hear in your verbal and nonverbal language, offer you possible strategies to try out, discuss coping skills, help you connect ideas, feelings and experiences.
