Getting to know Clint Edwards

Hi there, I'm Clint! Hello. I'm Clint Edwards, and I'm a licensed clinical social worker. Many think social workers mainly perform case management and administrative work. That is a small part of what I do. Most of my education (3-year F/T, 92 units MSW-equivalent to some doctorate programs) & work experience (3,200 hours clinical counseling) in every discipline from children, couples, family, forensic, trauma, addiction, and hospice, has provided me a rich and diversified background from which to best relate to and assist my clients in learning to manage or overcome their life challenges. My approach I employ an array of therapies, each customized to meet the needs of the individual. My agenda is to empower you to become your own therapist. I am very much results driven with an emphasis on empathy and compassion. There's no point in listing all the theoretical approaches I employ; most therapists don't even know what most of them are. My primary go-to's are CBT-Dr. David Burns-rapid-results version, EFT tapping, client-centered, strengths-based, problem-solving strategies, and solution-focused. My focus I have worked with and helped individuals with virtually every mental health condition. My primary emphases are anxiety-panic, crisis, depression, and grief. I was the sole therapist at a college for a year where I even became trained and experienced working with youth and young adults in academic, career planning, and life coaching. My communication style I consider the therapeutic environment to be a sanctuary; a safe haven. My demeanor is very calm and soothing (as I've been told by several clients). I feel it's essential to first gain your trust and confidence early in the therapeutic relationship. In fact, research overwhelmingly shows that the single biggest contributor to successful treatment outcomes (over 60%) is the relationship between the client and counselor.
