Life can be overwhelming at times; recognizing what you can, or sometimes can't, do about it releases some of the pressure. I will help you take a pause, step back, and identify what the situation calls for, and together find a way for you to move forward. My approach Traditional therapy is great, but I prefer a more solution-focused approach. Obviously, the past is an integral part of how you became you, so acknowledging the past, accepting it, and how it has shaped you, then letting it go is how I tend to approach my sessions. We do that by incorporating a variety of treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques (CBT), Short Term Solution Focused Therapy techniques (STSF), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy techniques (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing techniques (EMDR), and various other modalities determined by your individual needs. My focus I work with mature adults who are going through traditional (or unexpected) life transitions, personal or job stress, grief and loss, individual relationship issues, trauma, and/or those seeking help in redefining themselves so the next chapters of their lives can be their best.. Whether you’re working through trauma, building coping skills, or exploring your personal goals, I’ll work with you to create a plan for growth that feels empowering and achievable.” My communication style In my very lengthy career, one of the things I hear most often is “I do not feel heard". I provide a calm, non-judgmental environment that leaves you with no question about being heard and understood. I am very aware that I may not always be able to put myself in your shoes, but I believe in open and honest communication. If I do not understand something, I will ask clarifying questions until we both feel comfortable that we are on the same page, and you know I hear you.
