“I started therapy with Colton to discuss my challenging relationship with my family. I was feeling guilty about the fact that I don’t value my family relationships the same way some of my friends do, and I was worried going into it that I might be judged for being selfish, but my experience with Colton couldn’t have been any different. He worked hard to deeply understand where I was coming from and validated my feelings. Then he helped me set healthy boundaries with my family to greatly reduce my stress about my family relationships.”

Getting to know Colton Rouse

I'm proud of you. Awareness is the first step, and searching for a therapist means you are already on a path to self-betterment. My role is to be a companion, someone to walk that path with you and help unlock personal insights and perspectives to improve your quality of life. Change is the unknown, so it is scary and difficult. We can become too comfortable in our routine of life, but your presence here means you are ready for the next adventure. Allow me to connect with you to fulfill my life's purpose and help you reach your full potential. You are not alone, and you are cared for-even by people you haven't met yet. Licensed as both a Professional Counselor and a Marriage and Family Therapist, I bring knowledge and experience from both fields into my work. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling from St. Edward's University. I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, and couples facing issues related to anxiety, depression, and relational difficulties. Life can get complicated, so it helps to consider things from all angles. Change is possible. Your current circumstances do not have to dictate your future. "You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." - Christopher Robin. When you're ready, check out my website or give me a call. You decide when the rest of your life begins. I hope it's soon, and I look forward to hearing from you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients can expect a warm, safe environment of genuine care, curiosity, and acceptance. This will be the relationship foundation we use to explore our insecurities and issues while making concrete changes in our lives. Psychoeducation is a part of the therapeutic process, so clients can expect the communication of new knowledge and skills to apply in their daily lives. My goal is to provide a space and environment where you feel accepted, heard, and cared for while we work together to gain insight and make concrete changes to improve your quality of life.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
