Psychotherapist

Hello partners! I’m excited to meet you and go on this counseling journey together. I believe counseling is hard work, and we also need a sense of humor to live well. So come prepared to speak your mind and heart without worrying about me being scared, judgmental, or offended. My father and other family members served in the military, but I did not. Instead, I was a single, career-minded woman who worked in the oil business as a geologist, technical manager, and project planner/manager for 20 years. Then, in a few years, I got laid off, got married, became a stepmom, and went to seminary for my counseling degree. I earned my Master’s in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS Washington, DC). If you want to make changes or find yourself caught in a whirlwind of change, please know I will VERY MUCH understand and be in your corner. Many clients seek to overcome behavioral problems they've struggled with most of their lives. Much of what we find boils down to working through past trauma and grief. I have counseled for over 3 years with varied experiences: hospice counseling patients and families through grief and personal issues; church counseling adults dealing with anxiety/depression, life/career changes, eating disorders, personality disorders; couples in premarital and marital counseling; day hospital patients with personality disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, addiction, traumatic brain injury; private practices counseling adolescents and adults on ADHD, autism, anxiety/depression, gender/sexuality issues, grief, trauma (abuse, neglect, partner betrayal), using EMDR, and couples/family work using the Gottman Method. So, let’s get to work. We can do this. Credentials: I am a licensed professional counselor in Texas.
