I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University. I believe living a fulfilling and rewarding life begins with being emotionally and cognitively healthy. Reaching out for help when things are challenging requires great strength-congratulations on making that first step. I have been practicing for 5 years, with my focus in the last 3 years on women's issues, couples in crisis, grief and loss, sex/porn, and addiction, just to name a few. I would welcome the opportunity to work with you in your quest for emotional and mental well-being. My approach I am a compassionate professional, and client welfare is my highest regard. I am both accepting and empathetic toward those I serve. Through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Gottman Method, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, and Relational Therapy, we will work together to empower you toward healing and discovery. My focus Over the past 5 years, I have focused on women's issues, couples in crisis, grief and loss, sex/porn, and substance addiction. I have successfully helped couples in crisis restore and rebuild their relationships, supported families and individuals navigating grief and loss, and assisted many others through traumatic events. I serve clients ages 16 to 99. My communication style I create a safe, warm, and inviting environment for you to be heard while unpacking the things that have you stuck. My goal is always to help you help yourself-through teaching new skills, challenging when needed, and always being open and honest. My journey to mental healthcare My own experiences brought me to this profession. I saw firsthand what therapy offered to individuals and families. I witnessed the ravages of medication used to treat mental illness without true healing taking place. I sought therapy for myself but rarely found a therapist who looked like me or could understand my culture.
