Corby creates a welcoming, non-judgmental space for those who may feel like outsiders—whether due to sexuality, relationship structure, gender identity, or past experiences of religious or cultural trauma. Corby has extensive experience working with LGBTQIA+ clients, couples navigating ethical non-monogamy, and individuals exploring their emotional patterns and relationship histories. His work centers on helping clients untangle cycles of conflict, disconnection, or mistrust and instead build authentic, fulfilling relationships based on mutual understanding and emotional resilience. Corby helps clients move toward connection without losing their sense of self. He’s especially skilled at helping couples heal from infidelity, reignite intimacy, or navigate conversations about sexual expression and desire. Originally from a Texas farming and ranching family, Corby brings a grounded, approachable presence to his sessions. He knows how to hold space for complexity while guiding clients toward real change. He believes therapy doesn’t have to look one specific way—it can be a space where you’re finally seen for who you really are.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When working with me for therapy, clients can expect a therapy space that is deeply respectful, collaborative, and affirming of all identities and relationship structures. I show up with warmth, humor, and curiosity—meeting each client where they are, while gently guiding them toward growth and deeper self-understanding. I don't come in with a checklist of what your relationship "should" look like—instead, I help you explore what feels most authentic and meaningful for you and your partner(s). For couples, I follow a structured and effective model: starting with a 75-minute joint session to map out the relationship’s current challenges, followed by individual 50-minute sessions with each partner. This ensures that both personal histories and relational dynamics are honored. Ongoing work then continues with 50-minute sessions focused on building communication, trust, and emotional safety. Whether you're navigating infidelity, power struggles, emotional disconnect, or curiosity about non-traditional dynamics, I will offer a space where no topic is too taboo. My work also speaks to men who may struggle with vulnerability or have learned to shut down their emotional needs. I bring a compassionate lens to these challenges, helping men reconnect with their full emotional range. I aim to be a safe, steady presence who welcomes you exactly as you are—and I believe that growth happens when we stop trying to "fix" ourselves and start getting real about what we need.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process is structured yet flexible—designed to honor your lived experience while offering a clear path forward. The work begins with getting to know your story: what’s working, what’s stuck, and what you’re hoping for. For couples, I begins with a 75-minute joint intake session to understand the dynamic and identify your shared goals. Then, each partner is seen individually for a 50-minute session to explore personal background, family influences, attachment patterns, and any unspoken emotions. After this, joint sessions continue on a weekly or biweekly basis for 50 minutes each, focusing on building communication, trust, and emotional safety. For individual clients, I start by establishing a solid foundation of safety, attunement, and curiosity. I work with clients relationally and often bring attention to how past experiences—such as religious trauma, emotional neglect, or cultural marginalization—shape present-day challenges. My work is especially impactful for clients who have struggled to feel like they “fit” traditional molds of masculinity, sexuality, or relationship norms. Throughout the process, my work draws from Emotionally Focused Therapy, trauma-informed practice, and nervous system regulation techniques. I bring clarity, presence, and a deep respect for each client’s pace and goals. Whether you're exploring identity, seeking to improve communication, or recovering from betrayal, I'll walk with you—not ahead of you—as you do the work of creating a more aligned, empowered life.
