Cory Ian Shafer, LPC

Psychotherapist
675 Wyoming Ave, Ste A, Kingston, PA
Hello, I'm Cory Ian Shafer, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Marywood University. I have been practicing professionally in the counseling field since 2005 and have worked in mental health since 1999. I approach therapy primarily as a Jungian-Existentialist; however, I also recognize that many clients may need different approaches to achieve their success. Because of that, I incorporate an eclectic approach alongside my primary school of thought, allowing me to utilize many different modalities and approaches depending on what you need in your sessions. My specializations include working with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and grief counseling. I also enjoy writing and have published a few books concerning the human condition. On a personal note, I lead a simple and quiet life, enjoying reading, playing the bass guitar, music, traveling, and amateur astronomy.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
