Getting to know Cory Strubert

Hi, I'm Cory! Do you feel unmotivated, uninspired, and stuck in the routine of life or your relationship? Are you searching for who you are at your core and learning to live a life aligned with that? Are you struggling with anxiety, burnout, depression, or stress, which gets in the way of you moving forward? I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from Marywood University and over 10 years of experience working with families, individuals, and couples. My belief is that we all have struggles throughout our lives, and with the right support, we all have the strength within us to overcome these obstacles. In walking this journey of growth and healing with you, we will use a mind, body, and soul approach. I believe if we are not fulfilling all areas of our health and wellness, there will always be parts of us that are not aligned with our truest self, which hinders our natural healing cycle and interferes with us living a meaningful and fulfilling life. I work well with individuals experiencing life struggles related to anxiety, depression, trauma, negative patterns caused by toxic family dynamics, phases of life and adjustment issues, grief and loss, career challenges, self-esteem obstacles, relationship struggles, developing and teaching coping skills, finding the root causes of negative patterns in your life, and helping to identify who you are as your individual self.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The first few sessions are exploratory sessions. We will take the time to explore the topics you are seeking support for. Then the following sessions will consist of a variety of skills development and perspective changing/challenging. Together, we will better understand the influences from your past which may be causing the patterns that are playing out in your life today. We will develop strategies to change these patterns and challenge the negative thoughts and behaviors. We will take an objective view of how you are living your life and explore if this is aligned with who you are and who you want to be. We will take the time to help you build and develop your solid sense of self, so you can effectively set and enforce boundaries in your life.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

I have greatly enjoyed my therapy sessions with Cory. They're thought provoking, and have helped me accomplish the goals that I've set out to accomplish (and help me understand why I've failed to accomplish those goals when I do).
Cory is fully invested in my recovery. He actively listens. Cory consistently follows-up with focused questions or feedback. He is skilled at productively guiding our conversation.
I was resistant to therapy in the beginning. Didn't think it could help me. Cory has changed the way I perceive therapy. He's kind and non judgmental and solution oriented.

Cory is the antidote to years of bad therapists. He has given me strength and courage to confront what I need to overcome. He's done so with respect, a matter-of-fact attitude, and a solution-based approach.
I am feeling so much better after finding Cory to help me with my therapy. He is incredibly kind and makes me feel comfortable sharing without me feeling any judgment whatsoever. Instead, he provides insight that I never thought of before that really helps me to see things from a new perspective. I couldn't be happier with my progress so far and look forward to continue working with him.
