Getting to know Courteney Schenck

My name is Courteney Schenck, and I'm so glad to be here! I completed my Bachelor of Social Work in 2009 from Appalachian State University and earned my Master of Social Work from California State University, Northridge in 2015. I received my Clinical Social Work license in 2015 and my Clinical Addictions license in 2018. I have a vast range of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in outpatient mental health treatment, community-based crisis response, and hospital settings.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Whether you are taking your first step into therapy or looking for a new provider, beginning something new can be nerve wracking! As a therapist, I take a person first approach to treatment. You can expect honest communication and to be challenged to grow.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

For first sessions I like to define what brings you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. From there we will expand out to define your goals and how to work towards them together!
