Getting to know Courtney Basch

Our experiences shape the way we see ourselves, relate to others, and move through the world. As a therapist, I strive to create a warm, collaborative space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. Whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, or a major life transition, my goal is to help you better understand yourself with curiosity and compassion, creating space for meaningful, lasting change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Our experiences shape the way we see ourselves, relate to others, and move through the world. I believe the ways we learn to cope, protect ourselves, and relate to others often develop for good reasons, even if they no longer serve us. My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed, creating a space where you can explore your experiences and patterns with curiosity and compassion rather than self-criticism. Drawing from attachment-based and psychodynamic therapy, CBT, ACT, psychoeducation, and parts work, I work with you to deepen self-understanding, develop practical tools, and create meaningful, lasting change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, my hope is to meet you with warmth, respect, and curiosity—following your natural pace and honoring where you are emotionally, mentally, and relationally. We'll spend time understanding what brings you to therapy, what feels most important to you, and what you're hoping to gain, while beginning to make sense of your experiences together. There's no expectation to share everything at once or have all the answers—we'll start where you are.
