One of Courtney's goals in therapy is to help you break through life's struggles and encourage you to overcome these feelings, supporting a life that promotes your overall wellness.
Courtney works from a person-centered perspective and feels that the therapist-client relationship is essential to reaching a healthy therapeutic level of peace. She wants to give you the chance to truly voice your thoughts, emotions, relationship dilemmas, triumphs, and career or school choices that may be impacting your life. She utilizes a variety of theories to help you develop techniques that can support becoming your best self. Courtney especially practices reality therapy, a client-centered form of cognitive behavioral psychotherapy that focuses on improving your present circumstances. Reality therapy teaches that while we cannot control everything, we can control how we think and behave. A key component is helping you take back control and, as a result, improve daily life by learning to make more beneficial decisions.
In her free time, Courtney enjoys everything food-related! She loves to cook and try new foods and restaurants. Watching Food Network and HGTV is second nature to her. She also treasures quality time with her family and friends.
