Courtney Pinckney, LCSW

Psychotherapist
FL
Welcome. I'm Courtney "Adrian" Pinckney, LCSW, founder of ELIVĀT Collective Integrative Therapy. I provide psychotherapy for adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, burnout, and the emotional demands of high-achieving personal and professional lives. My approach combines psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based interventions to help clients move beyond symptom management and create meaningful, lasting change. Therapy is not simply about coping—it is about developing insight, strengthening resilience, and building a life that feels more aligned with your values. Many of my clients are professionals, healthcare workers, entrepreneurs, creatives, and individuals who appear successful on the outside while privately carrying stress, self-doubt, or unresolved emotional pain. Together, we create a thoughtful, collaborative space where you can explore patterns, understand the origins of your struggles, and develop practical strategies for growth. In addition to psychotherapy, I have specialized experience conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations for immigration matters, including asylum, VAWA, hardship waivers, U visas, and T visas. This work has strengthened my understanding of trauma, resilience, cultural identity, and the impact of significant life experiences. My goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care that helps you feel understood, empowered, and equipped to move forward with confidence.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy with me is collaborative, thoughtful, and personalized. I believe every person has a unique story, so I avoid a one-size-fits-all approach. Rather than simply treating symptoms, we work together to understand the deeper patterns, experiences, and beliefs influencing your emotional well-being. Clients often describe me as calm, attentive, and direct when appropriate. I strive to create an environment where you feel comfortable discussing difficult topics without judgment while also being challenged to grow. I balance empathy with accountability because meaningful change requires both support and honest reflection. I frequently integrate psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and practical skill-building depending on your goals and needs. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, trauma, or major life transitions, our work is tailored specifically to you. My hope is that therapy becomes more than a place to talk—it becomes a place where you gain clarity, build confidence, strengthen emotional resilience, and develop lasting tools for life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session focuses on understanding you as a whole person—not just your symptoms. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, your personal history, relationships, strengths, current stressors, and the goals you hope to achieve. This initial conversation allows us to build a strong therapeutic foundation and determine the most effective treatment approach. From there, sessions are individualized based on your needs. Some appointments focus on processing emotions and life experiences, while others emphasize developing practical coping strategies, improving communication, challenging unhelpful thought patterns, or working through trauma. As therapy progresses, we regularly review your goals and adjust our work to reflect your growth. I encourage active participation throughout the therapeutic process. Healing is most effective when therapy extends beyond the session, so we may incorporate reflection exercises, mindfulness practices, or strategies you can apply in everyday life. Above all, I strive to create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and collaboration—one where you feel supported while developing the insight and skills needed to create meaningful, lasting change.
