What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, understood, and supported. My approach is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I strive to create a space where you can be yourself, explore difficult thoughts and emotions, and work toward meaningful change at your own pace. I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, and trauma-informed care. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to your unique needs, strengths, goals, and life experiences. I view therapy as a partnership. While I bring clinical knowledge and guidance, you are the expert on your own life. Together, we will identify what is working, what is getting in the way, and what changes can help you move toward the life you want. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, or simply feeling stuck, my goal is to help you develop greater self-awareness, resilience, and confidence in navigating life's challenges.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first few sessions are focused on getting to know you, understanding your concerns, and identifying what you hope to gain from therapy. We'll discuss your current challenges, personal history, relationships, strengths, and any patterns that may be contributing to the difficulties you're experiencing. Together, we'll develop goals that feel meaningful and realistic for you. Once we have a clearer understanding of your needs, our sessions become a collaborative process of exploration, skill-building, and growth. Depending on your goals, we may work on identifying unhelpful thought patterns, processing difficult emotions or past experiences, improving communication and relationships, developing coping skills, increasing self-awareness, or creating healthier habits and boundaries. I believe lasting change happens both inside and outside of therapy, so I may suggest exercises, reflection questions, worksheets, or skills to practice between sessions when appropriate. However, therapy is never about "homework" for the sake of homework, any activities are designed to support your personal goals and growth.
