Courtney Simon, LMFT

Psychotherapist
FL
I attended Lee University where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 2011 and Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2014. After graduate school, I moved to Florida and spent 7 years working as a therapist in Juvenile Programs with the Department of Juvenile Justice. In 2021, I worked for a private practice and saw people from all walks of life, from children to older adults, and everything in between. I can bring a relational approach to therapy. I find that healing comes through the development of healthy relationships and appropriate boundaries. I utilize Client Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I have fifteen years of experience providing counseling in the community and I enjoy working with ALL ages. I enjoy seeing the change experienced through play therapy and giving children their happiness back. I also utilize parenting and co-parenting techniques in helping parents navigate the hardest job in the world. I enjoy helping teenagers transition from child to adulthood and everything in between. I have experience with depression, self-harm, anxiety, trauma, adjustment disorders, conduct disorders, criminal behaviors, and addiction. I have recently found my love of bringing couples closer in their relationships and helping them heal from past experiences and bringing the emotional connection back into their relationship. Walking through life can be scary, confusing, overwhelming, or stressful. You do not have to do it alone! Together we can explore the areas that are causing stress or sadness in your life. We can process past traumas, developing coping skills, and give you back control of your life! Therapy can be one of the best decisions you have ever made in your life. You've got this! We can do it together!
