“I have worked with Craig for a couple years now, and can honestly say he is the most amazing, reliable, trustworthy humans that I have ever met. I struggle with Bipolar depression and suicidal thoughts and he has saved my life, quite literally, on more than one occasion; working with my husband directly as needed to make sure I am as safe as possible during an episode. If I am in crisis, he gets me on the phone as soon as possible to help assist. I trust Craig with my life, and always will. He is the very best. ”

Getting to know Craig Black

As a solution-focused counselor with 13 years of clinical experience, I believe my role is to help you build realistic solutions to your life problems. I specialize in individual therapy for issues including anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, grief & loss, life transitions, men's issues, relationship problems, self-esteem, social anxiety, substance abuse and addictions, and trauma. Above all, I believe in providing a safe, collaborative, and client-centered therapeutic space where you can achieve your goals! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I offer online therapy throughout Texas and Florida.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I know starting with a new therapist can be a bit daunting for some, and that’s alright. I do strive to keep this an even-handed, conversational, and productive therapeutic relationship at every turn by remaining open, empathic, available, and non-judgmental. During our time together, it will always be OK to be you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Being solution-focused means that I am eager to get us on the path to finding personalized solutions for the concerns you're facing. This doesn’t mean I give unsolicited advice as if I’m the expert on how you should live, love, or be; I am here to collaborate with you to find what works in your unique life. I see my role as a partner in helping you build practical, sustainable solutions to the challenges you’re facing. I prioritize identifying what’s working in your life and building on those strengths while also addressing the barriers that may be keeping you stuck. My aim is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to move toward meaningful change—at your pace, in your way.

Craig was wonderful listener. He didn't jump to conclusions or invalidated any crazy thoughts I had. Even though I did most talking it felt like he helped me a lot.

I have been seeing Craig for almost a year. He is very reliable, and accommodating when it comes to my work schedule. He has been a professional and friendly confidant in my life and has helped me through my most difficult times. He continues to help me grow and I would highly recommend him. I am very satisfied with Craig and will continue to work with him.
I cannot say enough kind things about Craig. He is understanding and kind. Non-judgmental, I have had a REALLY hard time with a therapist in the past and he put every single concern I had at ease. If you are having trouble finding the right match I highly recommend giving Craig a chance because man the results I have seen have been life-changing.
Craig is by far the best therapist that I have worked with since starting my therapy journey. I have worked with Craig for a little over a year and he has helped me to make so much progress with my anxiety and self-esteem. Craig does an amazing job of listening to you and helping you to help yourself. He has brought forth many creative solutions and I can tell that he really spends time thinking about he can best help his clients. I can't recommend Craig enough!
I've only been to a few therapists, but Craig is the first therapist I've had where I truly feel listened to and who has actively worked with me on critically thinking and reflecting on the issues I've been having. While reflecting on thoughts and issues one specific way, it's been very eye-opening to have his input and insight provided. I am very pleased with the work I've had with Craig, and hope to continue to do so in the future.
Craig has been a great counselor. I was nervous at first as finding the right counselor can be difficult. His approach of us being a team and working towards a goal was great. He has given me great insight and tools to utilize during these challenging and stressful times. Finding my way and path has been with ease. I’m so glad I found him to help to me get here and look forward to continuing our sessions in the future as well.
Craig is very detailed with his questions to help get to the root causes, he also takes notes during the sessions and we are able to pick up from visit to visit. He listens and allows time for processing and is very patient. Myself and my family are very great full for him.
