What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a bilingual (Spanish, intermediate), direct, and empowering therapist who helps clients (15+) feel more grounded and understood, while making meaningful change. I usually work with individuals and couples who experience high anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, major life transitions, and relational challenges. I always use an intersectional, anti-oppressive lens in understanding client issues and have experience supporting BIPOC women navigating racial and cultural identity, systemic stress, and relationship dynamics.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In the first few sessions, we focus on understanding what brings you to therapy, what you want help with, and what may be getting in the way of change. We’ll talk about your goals, history, current stressors, and how your emotional and physical responses show up day to day. Sessions are active and reflective. Depending on your needs, we may explore patterns in thoughts, emotions, relationships, and body responses, while also building grounding and coping skills you can use outside of session. I adjust the pace based on what feels safe and workable, while still supporting forward movement over time. I integrate approaches such as ACT, DBT, CBT, attachment-based work, somatic therapy, and EMDR-informed care (currently in training). Therapy is collaborative, and we regularly check in to make sure the work feels helpful and aligned with your goals.
