What should a new client know about working with you?

I am private pay only, and can meet in person or virtually. I provide support for ADHD, anxiety, depression, life changes, grief and loss, identity issues, trauma, self-esteem, and motivation. I use an integrative approach, which means that I incorporate several different models of therapy based on the presenting problem and your individual needs. The therapies I draw from include: cognitive therapies, narrative therapy, psychodynamic therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and structural/strategic therapy. I work collaboratively, so invite consistent feedback and honest reflections in order for the service to be effective for you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Please request a time at least 24 hours in advance, and on the full hour (e.g. 1pm, 2pm, 3pm). I will make an attempt to contact you prior to our first scheduled meeting to discuss intake. Generally, therapy begins with an assessment period to understand your context and presenting problem, followed by the development of a plan for continuing treatment. I invite feedback to confirm that the plan fits for you, and we will check in periodically to reflect on changes and remaining need. If you find that the fit is not right or I feel that my support is not adequate, I will help refer you to someone more appropriate.
