Getting to know Cristina Fort

I offer online therapy and work with women, femmes, queer, gender non-binary, and trans folks ages 25 years and up. I would be happy to answer questions and help you with your insurance plan benefits and coverage. Despite being connected to nature and on a spiritual path, you’re still experiencing shame and extremely negative self-talk or feeling ‘too late’ to pursue your desires. That tyrant in your brain is killing your joy, making you feel alone and overwhelmed. Unresolved trauma, stress, or sadness has made it difficult to get through a day or be present in your relationships. You painfully over-focus on all the shoulds and wonder if you could lobotomize yourself. You've tried it all, but when you live with untreated trauma and anxiety, you age but struggle to grow. I can help you turn that vocal but unhelpful tyrant into a fierce inner support. You’ll learn to foster healing by grounding yourself in the present and allowing yourself to safely touch your pain because that's actually your inner gold. Paradoxically, the muck is where the magic happens! Through a dynamic blend of Somatic, Gestalt, and Creative Arts Psychotherapy, what I call Creative Now Therapy, I believe you can begin to recover yourself and shift your scary stories into empowering ones. I hold a Master’s degree in Creative Arts Therapy from the School of Visual Arts and a Bachelor’s degree from Tufts University, which inform my integrative approach. I'm with you, and I'm here to help you be with you. Book your free initial consultation call today.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have 16+ years of experience working as a therapist in a variety of settings. I’ve spent years specializing in using Somatic (body mindfulness), Gestalt, Creative Arts Therapy, & Transformational Coaching interventions alongside traditional talk therapy. Before creating Creative Now Therapy in 2013, I spent many years working with major mental health diagnoses in a variety of settings including: psychotic disorders, mood disorders, & other experiences of mental health crisis. Training / Education: • Hakomi Somatic Practitioner | Hakomi Institute. 2-year Post Graduate Training. North East, US. 2024. • Certified Professional Coach | Year long Coaching Training, Leadership That Works, NY, NY. 2020. • Certified Developmental Somatic Psychotherapist | The Center For Somatic Studies, 4-year Post Graduate Training. NY, NY. 2019. • Certified Gestalt Psychotherapist | Gestalt Associates For Psychotherapy, 4-year Clinical Fellowship Post Graduate Training. NY, NY. 2016. • Board Certified & Lisenced Creative Arts Therapist, #001500 | The Americal Art Therapy Association, US. 2011. - Certified Energy Medicine Practitioner through The Four Winds Society, a 400-hour training in Andean energy & earth-based practices in South America

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Beyond talking, I help people connect to their inner resources by bringing attention to the way their bodies & emotions mix with their beliefs & thoughts. We’ll uncover the patterns, habits, beliefs, & blocks that contribute to stress & interfere with your satisfaction. Clients often find that the somatic & creative process gets to the essence of what's really happening & promotes growth, improved self-esteem, and the ability to better manage difficult feelings.

Cristina made me feel very comfortable during our time together. Her perspective was so refreshing and really embodied the word "holistic."
Cris has such a self effacing ease , I found myself immediately comfortable talking about the most uncomfortable things that I hadn’t been able to say to anyone. Their insight has stayed with me from that first moment and helps me everyday. Has been a gift finding them.
I can’t recommend Creative Now Therapy enough. Cristina is not only warm and friendly but also dynamic and deeply engaging, making each session feel both comforting and transformative. When I first started, I was struggling with mid-life depression and anxiety. I felt stuck, directionless, and weighed down by unresolved issues from my past. Cristina’s somatic approach and incredible insight helped me unpack and truly understand myself in the here and now. With her guidance, I was able to make peace with my past, find clarity in the present, and take meaningful steps toward a brighter future. If you’re navigating life transitions, dealing with depression, or just feeling lost, Cristina’s compassionate yet effective approach can truly make a difference.
I had such a great experience working with Cris. I had only ever done therapy that was mostly focused on the cognitive side of things, so tapping into my body to connect with my past and better make sense of my feelings and experiences was an entirely new thing for me. I was skeptical at the idea at first, but Cris is a true master of her craft, making me feel right at ease from our very first session, and giving me a true appreciation of the somatic practice. I highly recommend Creative Now Therapy.
Working with Cris has been a lifesaver. She has helped me gain insight into who I am as a person and she has supported me through life’s difficulties. She is warm, kind and challenges me when I need it.
