Getting to know Crystal Bernard

If your hands feel entirely full right now, I see you. Navigating the quiet hum of anxiety, the endless juggle of career and relationships, or the heavy ache of grief and life transitions can make you feel disconnected from yourself. I work with individuals—with a specialized focus on women’s health and wellness—to ensure you don't have to carry these burdens alone. My clinical philosophy centers on the whole person. Rather than just focusing on what is broken, we will actively map your unique strengths to build a resilient path forward. This deeply compassionate framework is backed by a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s in Applied Psychology. Having guided clients through inpatient psychiatry, outpatient clinics, university settings, and private practice, I offer a steady, highly experienced grounding force to help you reclaim your confidence, process your emotions, and utilize real-world tools for everyday life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My sessions are led with genuine warmth and real respect for who you are, so our time together feels less like being analyzed and more like being truly understood. Because no two healing journeys are the same, I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I thoughtfully draw from various evidence-based modalities tailored to meet your unique needs. Whether we utilize psychodynamic therapy to explore deeper patterns, CBT and DBT for practical coping and emotional regulation, or trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approaches to honor your unique story, your therapeutic journey will always be built around you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Taking the first step can feel daunting, and feeling a little nervous is completely normal. There is no pressure to have everything figured out right away. Our initial time together is gently paced. We will mostly focus on getting to know each other, discuss what is bringing you in, explore what you hope to get out of therapy, and begin a collaborative plan that truly fits your life. Because my practice is fully virtual, you can take this step from the comfort of your own safe space. Let’s take that first step together!
