Getting to know Crystal Cowen

At BE., our mission is to empower individuals, adolescents, couples, and families to envision, become, and embrace their best and most authentic selves. Through compassionate, evidence-based mental health support, we foster growth, healing, and self-discovery—helping each client thrive with clarity, purpose, and connection."

What should a new client know about working with you?

As individuals, we all have a desire to live happy, fulfilled, and meaningful lives. Yet life often presents challenges—such as anxiety, depression, self-doubt, relationship struggles, communication difficulties, or simply feeling stuck—that can stand in the way of our goals. I believe that we all have the capacity to overcome these barriers and that seeking support is a powerful step toward healing and growth. Therapy offers a safe and supportive space to explore the roots of these challenges and begin the process of change. My goal is to help clients reconnect with their strengths, gain clarity, and build the confidence needed to navigate life more effectively. Through this process, individuals not only find relief—they become empowered. Empowered to make intentional choices, to improve their relationships, and to move forward with a renewed sense of purpose and self-belief.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy with me is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to your unique needs. Sessions typically begin with checking in on what has been coming up for you since our last meeting—emotionally, mentally, and relationally. Together, we explore patterns, stressors, and underlying beliefs that may be contributing to your current challenges, while also identifying strengths and progress along the way. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral, emotion-focused, and strengths-based strategies, while always maintaining a warm, person-centered environment. Sessions may include reflection, skill-building, practical tools, and gentle challenges designed to help you gain insight, improve coping, and move toward your goals. Above all, therapy is a safe space—free of judgment—where you can show up as you are. My goal is not only to help you find relief, but to feel empowered: empowered to make intentional choices, strengthen relationships, increase self-confidence, and move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and purpose.
