What should a new client know about working with you?

I specialize in working with the birthing community, adults, and teens. I work with those who are experiencing postpartum symptoms and/or pregnancy/baby loss, family planning, and menstrual mood disorders. I am trained in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders across diverse backgrounds. I use approaches that work well for people experiencing mood changes, anxiety/depression, intrusive thoughts, and OCD symptoms. I can help you begin to feel better, gain control of your life, your decisions, your hurt, and pain from the past. I also use play as a form of therapy with children ages 3 to 10. Children's voices and experiences are important to the developmental process. I work with children that have low self-esteem, trauma experiences, sadness, anger, or behavioral concerns.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Talk therapy works! I begin by listening to your story, your experiences to gain a better understanding of what brings you into therapy. Together we find what works for you that helps to minimize symptoms, bring awareness to thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and focus on healing from past experiences. With Children, play is usually their form of communication. Through play children learn to communicate effectively, express emotions in healthy ways, build self-esteem, and heal from past traumatic experiences.
