Congratulations on your courageous decision to seek help! The process of healing begins with taking responsibility, realizing that it is you – and no one else – that creates your thoughts, feelings, and actions. Self-awareness is the first step to change. Only you are aware of your unique circumstances and needs from therapy. I go above and beyond to help those like you who choose to actively help themselves. Understand that the path to self-discovery and growth is not easy. It involves commitment, personal investment, and a desire to delve into the process of growth, healing, and self-love. Remember, “You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.” ~ Buddha

What should a new client know about working with you?

Psychotherapy is my “calling” and I incorporate evidence-based practices including CBT, CPT, REBT, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Therapy, and Affirmative Therapy. I believe that thoughts that are learned and reinforced through life experiences may be “unlearned”; altered to promote optimal, more accurate self-and world-concepts which affect the way we maneuver through life. As the basis of my approach, I believe that our most important need is to be unconditionally loved, to feel a sense of belonging and validation. While we cannot control how we feel we can control how we think and behave, leading to better problem-solving and decision-making across the life span, thus abundant quality of life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I am honored to have your trust in my ability to help you work to build skills and strategies that lead to well-being, peace of mind, and self-fulfillment. I believe trust is a gift, the foundation of a strong therapeutic relationship, and I hold it sacred. After all, if you trust me enough to share your innermost pain and vulnerability, then I have a responsibility to offer my non-judgmental empathy to guide you toward realizing your best possible self!
