Getting to know Crystal Whisonant

Hello, I'm Crystal Whisonant, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I provide mental health therapy to families, teens, and adults dealing with a range of mental health disorders, emotional issues, depression, and anxiety. I believe that one's healing journey begins in a safe place filled with support, empathy, and the freedom to express oneself without judgment. My approach to therapy is rooted in mindfulness, cognitive behavioral techniques, and an eclectic mix of methods tailored to each individual's needs. My goal is to empower you in the healing and restoration of your mind, body, and soul. I have had the privilege of working in various mental health settings, including clinics, crisis residential centers, and non-profit organizations. I see clients from the ages of 14 to adulthood, and my own experiences in therapy have deeply influenced my desire to help others overcome challenges and thrive. A major focus of my work has been on managing anxiety and depression, where I help clients develop healthy coping skills and stress reduction techniques. I earned my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, DC. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Currently, I am licensed to practice therapy in the state of Maryland. Working with me means engaging in a collaborative process where your voice is heard, and your experiences are valued. Together, we will explore your thoughts and feelings, identify patterns, and work towards meaningful change. I am here to support you every step of the way, providing a compassionate and non-judgmental space for you to grow. If you feel ready to embark on this journey towards healing and self-discovery, I invite you to reach out. Let's work together to create a path towards a healthier and more fulfilling life.
