Cynthia Adams, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I am a dedicated and compassionate mental health therapist committed to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with resilience and hope. I have over 28 years of service in mental health and hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, which provides a strong foundation for my clinical work. My approach is client-centered, creating a safe, supportive environment for individuals to explore and address their mental health concerns. I specialize in anxiety—helping clients manage and reduce it through evidence-based techniques; depression—supporting individuals in overcoming symptoms and improving well-being; adjustment issues—assisting clients in navigating life changes effectively; relational issues—facilitating healthier relationships and communication; grief—providing support through the grieving process; and complex grief—addressing prolonged, complicated grief reactions. With extensive experience in treating anxiety, depression, grief, traumatic grief, and adjustment issues, I offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore emotions and develop healthy coping strategies. My goal is to empower you on your journey to healing and personal growth. I am often described as having a calm, gentle spirit and approach issues with compassion and understanding. My journey to mental healthcare began many years ago. Even as a child, peers were drawn to me to share their struggles. The joke in my family is that my sister, four years older, was instrumental in my becoming a therapist—she would make recordings of her problems for me to listen to when I awoke. We still laugh about that. Through that and other early experiences, I developed a strong desire to help and support others on their journey.
