Life is filled with challenges and surprises that we sometimes need help to navigate. It can get overwhelming if we do not have the right supports in place or an outlet. Therapy can sound intimidating to many individuals, which can prevent you from working on yourself. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach. This means that each individual will have a tailored treatment plan that meets their needs. As your therapist, I offer you a space where you will be heard, feel safe, be able to express yourself, and promote growth. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of South Florida. I accept Aetna and Cigna through a program called Headway. My out-of-pocket fee is $120 per session. I accept HSA and FSA cards, and I can provide a superbill for insurance reimbursement. Also, please recognize that I am not a psychiatrist and do not prescribe medication.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I help people who struggle with primarily with depression, anxiety, adapting to new changes in their life, and addiction. Some clients have low self-worth and they do not know what their value is. They are trying to find their voice. Many clients are trapped in their mind with constant thoughts causing them to doubt in their abilities. Clients are hesitant to ask for help or continue to carry their problems on their own. Clients range from different lifestyles and backgrounds. The majority are employed working full time while trying to maintain their families and themselves afloat. I accept Aetna and Cigna through a program called Headway. My out-of-pocket fee is $120/session. I accept HSA and FSA cards, and I can provide a superbill for insurance reimbursement. Also, please recognize that I am not a psychiatrist, and I do not prescribe medication.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A session with me typically starts off by a brief check- in and asking what you would like to address during the session. I allow you to dictate what they would like to focus on, as it helps promote assertiveness, learning to become confident, and learning that what you have to say is important. I allow you to feel heard and understood. I provide you with a space to feel comfortable to explore different avenues you would like to take. I provide feedback and challenge your thoughts when appropriate. You don't only get to choose WHAT we work on, you have full say on HOW we work on it. Clients tend to connect with me because I provide an environment that is professional yet laid back. I talk to them as I would with a colleague. I meet them at their level whether that be toning down the vocabulary. I truly try to meet their needs. I have had clients in the past tell me that they appreciate the simpleness and humility I provide during interactions because It allowed them to not feel intimidated. As a therapist, I feel that I break down things for clients in a manner where they feel that their goals are attainable. For example if a client says I would like to have a routine, I allow the client to express their vision of the routine and then ask them to break it down into smaller pieces that will help create their vision. When doing this and working together the clients have a lot of “aha” moments and they feel that they can now slowly start incorporating a new routine.
