UpLift Behavioral Health providers do not issue prescriptions for substances controlled by any federal or state agency or other drugs that may be harmful because of their potential for abuse. UpLift Behavioral Health reserves the right to limit the types of medications that may be prescribed by its doctors and nurse practitioners. All prescriptions furnished by UpLift Behavioral Health care providers are issued in accordance with applicable federal and state law as well as UpLift Behavioral Health policy. I use a holistic approach by addressing the needs of your mind, body, and spirit to help you develop a stronger relationship with yourself. I will ask questions to see the big picture of your life-what you were exposed to and what may still be affecting the way you think and react. Together, we will seek out your inner strengths and discard the thinking that no longer serves a positive purpose in your life. I will explore the impact your childhood and upbringing had on your current worldview and how you view yourself in the world. From there, we will build a treatment plan that moves you in a positive direction toward meeting your personal life goals. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, a Bachelor's degree from Campbell University, and an Associate's degree from Coastal Carolina Community College.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I will begin by having you take me on the journey through your life, starting with your childhood and leading up to the current day and your reason for coming to therapy. I will ask you to tell me what goals you have with therapy and together we will build a treatment plan that will help you reach those goals. The treatment plan is the blueprint of to help you achieve your goals and it will include things such as which therapy model, the work involved, how often we will meet and for how long. I prefer to start with weekly sessions for 3-4 weeks, if that works with your schedule, and then move to biweekly sessions.
