What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me means stepping into a therapeutic relationship that honors both your immediate needs and your deeper healing journey. I believe that true healing happens when we address not just symptoms, but the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. As your therapist, I combine the best of evidence-based practice with holistic approaches to support your overall well-being. This means you'll experience proven therapeutic methods like EMDR for trauma processing, DBT skills for emotional regulation, and CBT techniques for changing thought patterns, enhanced by mindfulness practices, somatic awareness, and stress reduction techniques that help your body heal alongside your mind. I specialize in creating culturally responsive, trauma-informed spaces where you can feel safe to explore difficult experiences while developing practical tools for daily life. Whether you're dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, or seeking deeper personal growth, I meet you exactly where you are without judgment. My approach is collaborative—you're the expert on your own experience, and I'm here to guide and support you in discovering your own strengths and solutions. I particularly understand the unique challenges faced by women, survivors of domestic violence, individuals with ADHD, and those navigating grief or major life changes. Sessions are conducted via secure telehealth, allowing you to receive quality care from the comfort and privacy of your own space. You can expect a warm, accepting environment where your healing happens at your own pace, with tools and insights you can use long after our sessions end."

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My therapeutic process is designed to create safety, build skills, and facilitate lasting transformation through several key phases: Initial Assessment & Safety Building (Sessions 1-3): We begin with a comprehensive assessment of your current challenges, history, strengths, and goals. I use trauma-informed approaches to ensure you feel safe and supported from day one. We'll explore what brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve, while I explain how my integrative approach can support your specific needs. Stabilization & Skill Development (Sessions 4-12): Before diving into deeper work, we focus on building your toolkit of coping skills. This includes DBT techniques for emotional regulation, mindfulness practices for anxiety management, grounding techniques for trauma symptoms, and cognitive strategies for challenging negative thought patterns. You'll learn practical skills you can use immediately in your daily life. Processing & Integration (Sessions 12+): Once you feel stable and have solid coping skills, we move into deeper therapeutic work. This might include EMDR for trauma processing, exploring family patterns and relationships, addressing core beliefs that no longer serve you, and integrating mind-body approaches to release trauma stored in the body. We work at your pace, ensuring you never feel overwhelmed. Growth & Maintenance (Ongoing): As you progress, our focus shifts to maintaining your gains, continuing personal growth, and preparing for therapy completion. We might space sessions further apart, focus on specific goals, or address new challenges that arise. I provide ongoing support as you integrate what you've learned into your life. Throughout Our Work Together: Regular check-ins about your progress and how therapy is feeling Homework assignments and skill practice between sessions Flexibility to adjust our approach based on your changing needs Integration of holistic practices when appropriate and desired Collaboration with other
