Life is tough. If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or out of rhythm by the complexity and challenges life may present, I can and will help you. My name is Damon Neely. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and U.S. Marine Corps veteran with 18 years of healthcare experience. I earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina. I specialize in working with both young adults and middle-aged men experiencing anxiety and/or depressive symptoms. If you are struggling with any of the following issues—mid-life anxiety, perfectionism, unrealistic expectations, feelings of failure, low self-worth, self-acceptance, upcoming lifestyle decisions, relational issues with spouse/partner/family, social skills, anger management, emotional regulation, fatherhood, or meaning and purpose—I believe I can provide you the space to explore these challenges and help you find a pathway toward resolution. I speak English. In my free time, I enjoy exercising, sports, reading, and watching epic movies or TV shows. What brings me the most fulfillment these days is being a father to my three beautiful daughters and husband to my incredible wife. I want to hear your story and gain insight into who you are, what you believe, and what you value. I genuinely believe that you have the power to re-author your story if it has gotten off track. You have the ability to reinvent yourself and engage in your own existential makeover. I will be your guide on your quest to make changes, walking beside you as you face whatever challenges arise. Answer the call. Let’s take the next step on your hero’s journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

An initial session/intake where we assess what is going on in your life and we jointly set goals and complete a treatment plan. During the initial and ongoing sessions, we will continue to assess, monitor, identify, explore, and prioritize presenting issues or concerns. Our partnership will include discussion with regards to expectations, outcomes, and psychotherapy techniques or methods. Appropriate techniques and therapeutic discussion will be utilized to address presenting issues and concerns. Specific tasks may be assigned outside of the counseling sessions to supplement the counseling process. I believe people strive for self-actualization, authenticity, and potentialities so the goal of therapy is to empower as to not create dependency.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
