Thank you for visiting my professional page. I've been working with children, adults, and couples for several years, and through my experience, I've developed strong beliefs about healthy development. First, our experiences shape who we are, and everyone deserves to be treated with patience, respect, and dignity. We need a safe environment to open up and develop self-compassion. Second, we need support and cannot work through our problems alone. Lastly, it takes intention to change patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. Throughout my career, I have worked in residential treatment centers, crisis centers, and schools. I've primarily worked with people managing conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD/trauma experiences, gambling, and substance use disorders. I have equal experience with children, adolescents, and adults. I also see couples working on communication issues, conflict resolution, and differing relationship expectations. I believe that people are the experts of their own lives and should feel empowered to process and work through their struggles with the support of another. I use a humanistic approach and incorporate my training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy into my sessions. I hold a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University. Therapy is about creating something together, and it's my role to provide tools and support clients in developing insight, self-knowledge, and self-acceptance.
