What should a new client know about working with you?

Are life’s stressors impacting your sense of joy, your family life, or other relationships? Are you struggling with thoughts that seems to keep you down or take control? Do you feel as though you are alone in handling some of the challenges that life has put in front of you? Anxiety and depression can immobilize us, leaving us feeling powerless and sometimes we just can't make things better on our own. My training and 20+ years of experience prepared me to work with people of all cultures and backgrounds. I want to understand not only who you are as a person, but also how your background and experiences shape your life. I work with adults experiencing OCD, phobias, anxiety, phobias, family dysfunction, grief and loss, anger, and individuals touched by adoption. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the key to successful therapy and I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment and develop a trusting and collaborative relationship with clients. You are the expert in your journey to recovery. I am competent in a variety of modalities including CBT, ACT, ERP, IFS, DBT, & Schema Therapy. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” I applaud you in taking the first step to be your best self.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I specialize in anxiety/compulsive disorders including OCD, Generalized Anxiety, Phobias, Panic, Social Anxiety, among other issues. We will collaboratively create a treatment plan specific to you that includes evidence based treatment strategies. Most client find relief in symptoms with diligence in completing therapy "homework" and are able to more fully participate in life!
