Getting to know Daniel Blakeman

Hello! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida with a Masters in Marriage and Family therapy. I specialize in relationships and family dynamics with specialized level two training in the Gottman method. I am a father of two which includes a step-daughter and special needs son, and have been married for 19 years. In couples counseling, I am fair and even-handed, not taking sides. Christian counseling is available and part of my own personal journey. As I respect each individual's personal journey, it will only be included by your request. We all list the styles of therapy that as counselors we employ, but at the end of the day you are coming to a therapist to be heard, be understood, and to be supported. I will do that for you without judgment or criticism. Let’s talk today!

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy's purpose is to be challenging. It is not a therapist's job to rubber stamp your behaviors and affirm your thought processes. I will push you to grow as a person and re-evaluate your perspectives.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

I was told through an email that I was going to be charged $45 for not showing up but I had an emergency and left my phone in the house and wasn’t able to login after several attempts to call the office and the phone listed nobody ever answer and I emailed him as well and now answer.

I am a recent single dad and Daniel has helped me understand my role as a parent to my kids, one being special needs. He has suggested and encouraged me to set realistic expectations and boundaries in my life, which is helping me navigate my days with less guilt, stress and anxiety.
We have had incredible success working with Daniel. He is realistic, thoughtful, and productive, sharing strategies to cope with difficult relationship issues while validating both parties.
