Getting to know Daniel Buchanan

I provide client-centered and humanistic counseling and therapy services for individuals. I follow the philosophy that we are all human beings, facing human problems. The aim of treatment is to reach stability, happiness in everyday life, and move closer toward the clients goals. This happens through making change, and changing the way we view our lives. I have experience working with adults, children, teens and families on a variety of challenges such as: depression, family conflict, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar, grief & loss, PTSD, and caregiver support to name a few. I utilize an eclectic mix of modalities tailored to each individual. In addition, I provide clinical supervision to pre-licensed practitioners.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When coming in, you can expect to be greeted with compassion and support. I have a firm belief in setting specific goals, however, each session will roll out with authenticity based on your needs.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

First session is about getting to know one another, review reasons for coming in to therapy, and setting goals for treatment. Over the next few session we will get to know one another better, building a therapeutic relationship and pursuing your goals along the way. This might look differently from client to client, however, the treatment is done in a way which works best for you, and we discover what that looks like along the way.
