Getting to know Dr. Daniel Cohn

I am a clinical and sport psychologist located in the Philadelphia suburbs, licensed in PA and NJ, and credentialed through PsyPact to be able to provide virtual therapy to clients in participating states. I specialize in working with people in demanding fields such as business, law, tech, medicine, and the performing arts. I also work with athletes at the high school, college, and professional level. Some of the issues I commonly treat include performance anxiety, perfectionism, ADHD, career stress, and adjustment to life transitions.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Many people who reach out to me are doing their best to manage the demands in their lives, but there's something — anxiety that's difficult to quiet, or a sense that they're not getting the most out of themselves or their situation — that they haven't been able to resolve on their own. They're not only looking for coping skills, but something deeper and more impactful. They want a thoughtful collaborator who can help them develop greater psychological wellbeing, navigate complex decisions, build more meaningful relationships, work through the challenges of their careers, and live in alignment with what actually matters to them.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session with me would involve collaborative discussion around your goals, the challenges you've faced in trying to achieve those goals, questions from me to help us both better understand your situation, and interventions from me to provide you with the skills to successfully navigate the situations you find yourself in and achieve those goals.

If you have out-of-network mental health benefits, you may be eligible to be reimbursed for a significant portion of session fees. I provide superbills to clients who are looking to use their out-of-network benefits that contain all the necessary documentation to submit for reimbursement. Payment is due at the time of service via credit card or HSA/FSA. I'm also a Lyra Health provider, so if your employer offers Lyra as a benefit, you may be able to access sessions with me through that program.
