Hi there, I'm Daniel! Welcome. I'm Dr. Daniel J. Hannon, Ph.D., a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in both NH and MA. I've been working with patients of all ages for over 20 years manage and transcend their mental health, behavioral, and emotional challenges. I utilize a combination of CBT, ACT, ERP, Narrative, Play and traditional talk therapies to help people achieve balance and success in their lives. My specialty areas include anxiety, OCD, autism spectrum disorders, and families in conflict. My approach I utilize a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, Narrative, Play and traditional talk therapies. My focus I work with patients of all ages, as well as with couples and families. My specialty areas include anxiety, OCD, autism spectrum disorders, and families in conflict. My communication style Our sessions are conducted in a private, one-to-one Telehealth setting, that is accepting and nonjudgmental. Sometimes we talk, sometimes we engage in activities, and sometimes we engage in play. I also like to give homework assignments to keep patients focused on their progress between sessions. While I believe as Carl Rogers noted that it is the relationship between patient and therapist that provides the basis for healing, we can guide this through what we do to achieve desired results. My journey to mental healthcare My first experiences in this field came as a mediator, working with families in conflict. As it became clear to me that many conflicts arise from people not listening to one another, it became increasingly important to me to learn how to get better at this myself. Extending this skill set into supporting people struggling with individual conflicts and mental illness was a natural extension. Even with all of the additional training I have received, I continue to find that listening is perhaps the most important thing I can do.
