Getting to know Daniel Ivey

Daniel Ivey is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Board Certified Clinical Chaplain holding two Master's Degrees who truly cares about people. Coming from a Cognitive Behavior Therapy framework and his experience also as a spiritual leader, he helps people CONNECT again with their Self, Relationships, and Spiritual sense of purpose within their unique destiny and purpose in life. Whether it is a major mental illness or a major life issue or relationship struggle, Daniel seeks to bring things back together in an orderly fashion that leads again to wholeness and fullness of life. As a natural born healer and counselor, Daniel started noticing in childhood that people just felt comfortable opening up their lives to him. His older brother Randall explained to him, "Daniel, it's because they can tell you really care." So he's been a life long learner of how to help people best, with a Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Georgia, a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, and Master in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Florida, along with 1600 hours of Clinical Pastoral Education and a "Mini-MBA" certificate from Rollins College. Daniel specializes in relationships, crisis, trauma and veterans issues, bipolar disorder, autism, ADHD, spirituality in counseling, grief, career counseling, personality theory, along with anxiety and depression.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Since I had no prior experience with mental health clinicians in the area my choice was completely random. Daniel Ivey was a great choice. I feel as though I hit a bullseye on my first try. Daniel was very patient listening to my reasons for seeking therapy, and provided some very useful insight. Together we arrived at some very solid theories, or observations regarding the past, and how they brought me to where I am now. With his assistance I’ll begin the process of unpacking that awareness to begin moving toward a healthy future. I would recommend Daniel Ivey without hesitation.

Daniel is an excellent listener and conversation moderator. We made a lot of progress in our initial conversation/session with him, which I was not expecting! We look forward to additional sessions with him in the future.
Video visit
Daniel is very helpful. He listens well and reflects what I say in a way that lets me expand my thinking and solidify my beliefs.
He started off well for the first 2 sessions & ended our 3rd session a weird way that it felt like he was trying to find an excuse to end the session 20 minutes early. He wanted to give my partner & I quiet time to look into each others eyes & appreciate each other, but we were confused what he would do in the meantime. He logged off the call & never came back on nor messaged us later to see if we wanted to continue for another session in the future. Things were not resolved within 3 sessions, even for single therapy sessions, more than 3 sessions is typically needed. We got no explanation for him ending the session early. He has a good bedside manner, but this really threw us off & steered me away from wanting to work with him again. Some of the advice he gave to my partner was strange, telling him how best to react when I may react a certain way, even though my partner already doesn’t react negatively. Good bedside manner, but a little strange and unclear on the execution/follow-up.

Jen is great he’s very comforting very funny. He believes in everything that you would ever believe in. It’s only my third session. I think it’s gonna go far.

Daniel is straight to the point and direct even if it's not what we want to hear. I find that he is very efficient at his job.
He has a warm, solution based approach where he challenges you to look for answers, providing guidance throughout the process. His insight is thoughtful and humble, and at times, humorous.
Honestly - It's not fair we can only pick 2 - Daniel is all the above and then some! He has already helped me tremendously and I look forward to working with him more.
Daniel is a great listener and let’s me express all the details I find relevant to my situation without interrupting me or judging anything I say. He’s very encouraging and empathetic, while giving me solid guidance, which is exactly what I need. He’s honest with you and tells you what you need to hear. Asks you questions that really make you think and realize things. He’s very kind and patient as well. You can tell he really cares for his clients. I would definitely recommend him.
