Getting to know Daniele Gentile

My name is Daniele Gentile. I am a Licensed and Nationally Board Certified Creative Arts Therapist and Trained EMDR Therapist, with a Master’s in Art Therapy from New York University. I support hypervigilant BIPOC teens and adults in Manhattan and Westchester County by helping alleviate stress, process trauma, manage anxiety, and improve self-worth. The Creative Garden provides a space for us to voice our worries, engage our inner child, and tend to our own internal gardens.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I promote an integrative approach to psychotherapy. I provide a creative, trauma-informed and evidence-based approach in sessions. I create a validating and nurturing environment, while helping you recognize your inner strength. My main modalities I integrate include: Arts Therapy, EMDR, DBT Skills, Psychodynamic Therapy, and the Nurtured Heart Approach. My therapeutic philosophy begins with recognizing that the brain is adaptable. As a result, I believe there is always hope for change, and I’m here to guide you through that journey. I believe everyone has an innate capacity to heal and reach their full potential. You are the expert of your internal garden.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During the initial sessions we will explore your past history and the present symptoms you are experiencing. From there we will collaborate to make a plan for processing the core conflicts that may be impacting you and identify present strategies to help manage symptoms. In a typical session we may explore different themes you are noticing throughout the past week or something on your mind. From there I offer an intervention that may be creative-based, trauma-informed, or behavioral-based to support deeper reflection. I also will keep in mind the goals we set out to focus on and gently guide us to addressing and taking steps towards those goals.

Initial session: $200 for 60 minutes

Ongoing session: $175 for 45 minutes

Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront

I am out-of-network benefits with most insurance companies. I can help verify if you have out-of-network benefits. I use a service called Thrizer that automatically submits superbills for you and allows you to only pay a co-insurance rate (similar to a copay) for my sessions, typically saving clients on average 70% of my full rate every session.
