Acceptance serves as a prerequisite for change. By accepting and honoring the neglected parts of oneself, genuine healing from trauma becomes possible while facilitating a journey toward profound personal progress. In my experience as a licensed mental health counselor specializing in trauma and dissociation, I have learned that the only way out is in. I adopt a non-pathological approach, prioritizing the exploration of my clients' intricate "inner worlds" as the catalyst for enduring transformation in the external world. I hold a Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling from Florida Atlantic University, which has equipped me with a strong foundation in therapeutic techniques and client-centered care. Navigating the depths of mental health challenges can often be isolating. As your therapist, my primary goal is to foster a sense of connection. I am dedicated to providing an empathetic environment, guiding you in understanding your experiences and symptoms, and aiding you in discovering realistic solutions to construct a more meaningful life. I use evidence-based therapeutic treatments, including Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to facilitate your journey toward healing and personal growth.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is a therapeutic approach that involves exploring the inner landscape of one's mind to understand and transform the various "parts" or aspects of their personality. In this method, individuals learn to identify and engage with these internal parts, which often represent different emotions, beliefs, and experiences. The concept of parts work in therapy acknowledges that each person's mind is composed of various sub-personalities or parts, each with its own unique perspective, emotions, and needs. Through IFS therapy, clients develop a compassionate and curious relationship with these parts, aiming to heal and integrate them harmoniously. This process allows individuals to gain a deeper understanding of their inner dynamics, reduce inner conflicts, and promote emotional healing and personal growth. Ultimately, Internal Family Systems therapy empowers individuals to become their own internal therapists, fostering greater self-awareness, balance, and emotional well-being.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Following the booking, you will be contacted by me to confirm the session and explain my billing process for insurance or out-of-pocket payment. I will also email you consent forms and an intake questionnaire through mt telehealth platform, Simple Practice. These forms must be completed prior to the first session. An initial therapy session will typically include history-taking, goal-setting, and trust-building. I understand that it can be difficult to trust a perfect stranger with things you may not have discussed with anyone else. I respect the pace of all of my clients and recognize the importance of building an effective therapeutic alliance. No client is "one size fits all." I will also discuss my therapeutic approach and openly collaborate regarding what treatment plan fits best for you.

More information on payments and coverage

I use a billing software called Alma to process all of my insurance and out-of-pocket payments. For insurance clients, Alma runs an eligibility check to confirm insurance benefits and provides transparent pricing regarding co-payment responsibility. I submit a claim through Alma following each session and you will be charged for your co-payment. Co-payments are preferably set up on auto-pay but you may elect to be sent an invoice each session if necessary. For out-of-pocket clients, I will create an invoice through Alma and you will be charged the agreed-upon rate through auto-pay or be sent the invoice to complete prior to the next session.
