Psychotherapist

As a therapist with a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, I am deeply committed to creating a safe, empathetic, and judgment-free space for individuals navigating their journey toward healing and growth. Everyone has a unique story shaped by their experiences and resilience. My work centers on honoring these stories and empowering clients to embrace their strengths, foster change, and lead fulfilling lives. I believe therapy is a partnership rooted in trust, empathy, and mutual respect. Guided by this philosophy, I adopt a Person-Centered Therapy approach, allowing clients to take the lead in their healing process. This approach emphasizes each individual's innate capacity for growth, while I provide a supportive framework for self-discovery and transformation. To enhance the therapeutic process, I incorporate techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). DBT equips clients with tools to manage emotions, build relationships, and navigate distress, while CBT focuses on challenging unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. By tailoring these methods to each client’s needs, I provide a holistic and personalized therapeutic experience.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I specialize in helping individuals navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and substance use disorders. These areas of focus allow me to address both immediate concerns and underlying factors, helping clients build healthier, more fulfilling lives: Anxiety: I help clients understand and manage the root causes of their fears while developing strategies to reduce symptoms and regain control. Depression: My approach fosters a compassionate space for clients to explore their emotions, challenge negative patterns, and rediscover hope. Self-Esteem: Addressing low self-esteem involves building self-compassion, exploring strengths, and challenging critical self-beliefs influenced by societal or familial factors. Substance Use: I adopt a nonjudgmental, collaborative approach to understand the underlying factors of substance use and support recovery. Supporting adolescents and young adults is a particularly meaningful part of my practice. This stage of life is filled with growth, identity exploration, and challenges, such as academic stress, peer relationships, and mental health concerns. My approach is tailored to the developmental needs of this age group, creating a space where young clients feel respected and empowered to express themselves authentically.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Entering therapy can feel both exciting and intimidating, especially if it’s your first time. Understanding what a session typically involves can help ease uncertainty and provide a sense of what to expect. My goal is to create a welcoming and supportive space where you feel safe to share, explore, and grow at your own pace. Each session starts before we even meet. I encourage you to take a few moments beforehand to reflect on how you’ve been feeling, what’s been on your mind, or any specific topics you’d like to discuss. You don’t need to have everything figured out—part of therapy is helping you clarify and navigate these thoughts. If this is your first session, it will primarily focus on getting to know you, your story, and your goals for therapy. I’ll ask questions about your background, experiences, and what brought you to seek support. We’ll discuss what you’re hoping to achieve, and I’ll share more about how I work and what you can expect from our time together.
