Getting to know Dr. Danielle Schulman

I'm Dr. Danielle Schulman, a licensed clinical psychologist and certified school psychologist with a PsyD in School Psychology from Hofstra University. I specialize in working with children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, and depression. Outside of my professional life, I find joy in hiking, skiing, reading, and spending quality time with family and friends. I look forward to connecting with you!

What should a new client know about working with you?

In therapy, I use a cognitive-behavioral approach, helping my clients learn new skills while understanding the connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I also employ a strength-based approach, guiding clients to recognize and build on their strengths while fostering confidence and resilience. Throughout our work together, we will establish goals that are meaningful to you and align with the outcomes you wish to achieve. I strive to create a warm and welcoming space where you feel validated, understood, and supported. My hope is for you to leave each session feeling empowered, confident in your abilities, and ready to take actionable steps toward achieving your goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I work primarily with children and teens between the ages of 6 and 18. While I specialize in working with kids and adolescents, I am also open to working with adults, particularly in the area of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). My primary areas of specialization include anxiety, depression, ADHD, and autism. In addition to my private practice, I work as a school psychologist within a local school district. This role allows me to assist families in navigating the special education process, offering expertise and support to help them advocate for their children's educational needs.
