“Danielle is an excellent therapist. At no time when I was her patient did I feel judged or afraid to be completely honest about anything. After about a year of talking my stuff out with her, I noticed a marked improvement in my overall outlook on life. She is kind and encouraging and empathetic, and I highly recommend her as a therapist. ”

“Danielle had me as a client for a few years until I had to leave her practice due to insurance discrepancies, not for any fault of hers. She has been one of the absolute best therapists I've ever had, and I made so much progress with her going thru PPA and PPD, I do not know what I would have done without her being my therapist. Highly recommend her if you want a good therapist who cares, doesn't slap a label on you and call it a day. I'd go back to her in a heartbeat. Thank you for everything! ”

Getting to know Danielle Scott

I believe that change is a courageous effort because it often requires a willingness to experience difficult feelings, conversations, and choices. Sometimes life's changes are involuntary, like loss, breakups, medical conditions, job loss, or other unexpected events. Yet, even voluntary, positive changes such as getting married or having a baby can be surprisingly difficult to adjust to. Whatever you are going through, it's okay to need some help navigating it. You don't have to do it alone. I hold a Master's in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, and I am here to support you through your journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I don't know who needs to hear this, but you can cuss in therapy. I'm not offended by the f word. Whatever you feel the need to say, I've probably heard worse and I'm not judging you. And if it does happen to be the worst thing I've ever heard, I'm still not going to judge you, but maybe I'll give you a certificate of achievement or a cookie or something. ;)

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process is to get to know you, collaborate on therapy goals, and review assessments you filled out in the first session. Going forward, therapy is flexible and you can talk about whatever you like or we can talk about skills, information, or do activities related to your treatment goals. Most people have some weeks where they just want to vent about whatever is going on, but other weeks we do work related to their past and future. The frequency of therapy is flexible based on your needs, but most people start with weekly and eventually reduce to biweekly, and then go to as-needed or stop when they are ready. Feedback about what you want and what works and doesn't work well for you is always welcome! Thank you so much for your consideration!
