Psychotherapist
CA
Starting therapy is a significant step, and you don’t have to navigate it alone. I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#164738) dedicated to providing a warm, culturally responsive, and inclusive space where you feel fully seen, heard, and supported. My clinical approach integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Strengths-Based frameworks. Rooted in cultural humility and trauma-informed care, I meet clients where they are with kindness, curiosity, and collaboration. Drawing from my background as a former Division I athlete and a woman of color, I bring firsthand insight into how culture, social pressures, identity, and athletic performance impact mental health. I am passionate about dismantling the mental health stigma and helping you reconnect with your inherent resilience. Whether you are navigating life transitions, cultural or societal expectations, sports performance pressure, or seeking a safe place to heal, we will tailor our work around your goals and pace. Dani is supervised by Devon Cortright, Psy.D.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me means entering a warm, collaborative, and judgment-free space where your unique lived experience is deeply respected. I practice with cultural humility and trauma-informed care, meeting you exactly where you are without expectations or pre-conceived notions. I firmly believe that you are the expert on your own life. We will move at your pace, and our work together will be tailored directly around your personal goals and values. Additionally, your background and intersectionality will always be honored here. Lastly, rather than focusing solely on problems, we will focus on reconnecting you with your inherent resilience, strengths, and tools to navigate life’s challenges; reuniting you back to your most authentic-self.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is dedicated to building rapport, exploring what brings you to therapy, and understanding your background, values, and history. We’ll discuss what you hope to get out of therapy and make sure that we are a good fit! Throughout our ongoing sessions, we’ll identify clear, meaningful goals tailored to your pace. Adding on, establishing a road map grounded in your values and roots. You will continue to enter self-exploration, develop practical coping tools, and learn how to process challenging emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Overall, your therapeutic journey will also consist of periodic reflections of your growth, therapeutic adjustments as needed, and ensuring that our work together continues to serve your evolving needs.
