Vulnerability in safe spaces can become a pathway to healing, but being vulnerable is often uncomfortable and avoided. Avoidance is our brain’s automatic protective mechanism, but a pattern of protection can work against us, in the areas that we want to change. In your life experiences, seeking support may have been met with judgment or taught you that safe spaces are difficult to come by. I want to encourage you! By joining the tavahealth platform and reviewing provider profiles you are making a very important step and you are not alone. Seeking support through a safe therapeutic relationship is a healthy decision especially if you are having difficulty balancing life changes or if physical health challenges interfere with your joy and wellbeing. If you are a parent or caregiver, it can be difficult to acknowledge that your methods are not leading to the results that you want to see. If you are a professional with demanding responsibilities you may find yourself overwhelmed and uncertain on how to navigate the journey to success. As a licensed clinical psychologist, over the past 8 years, I have found that cultivating culturally responsive spaces where individuals can feel that they are heard, understood, and valued are necessary for healing and restoration. I have dedicated my life’s work to providing compassionate and inclusive behavioral health care and consultation to support children, adolescents, adults, and parents in an empowering environment. I attained my doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed my postdoctoral fellowship through Michigan State University. My approach to care starts with developing a positive therapeutic bond, characterized by warmth, empathy, and cultural humility.
