Hi there, I'm Danny! My name is Danny Ertman. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT 114535, with a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Meridian University. My experience is broad-based, working with multiple populations and groups. Therapy with me will be interactive and empathetic, using a variety of treatment methods tailored to the specific needs and goals of each client. My psychotherapy practice draws from a varied selection of approaches. It begins with empathic listening and establishing trust, then moves through trauma and trigger identification and redirection, emotional exploration and expression, and consideration of life purpose and spiritual beliefs. My approach is fluid, adapting to keep pace with the client-therapist process. I have worked with individuals of all ages, as well as couples from diverse sexual orientations and cultures. Working with men and couples, including groups, is a significant part of my practice. The initial treatment goal is to create an environment of trust where clients feel held and free to express whatever arises. I was guided toward psychotherapy after more than 20 years as a physical therapist. I noticed that patients struggling to heal physical ailments often faced considerable, seemingly unrelated stressors and mental health challenges. Encouraged by associates, friends, and clients, I transitioned into psychotherapy. Now, approaching 10 years in this field, I am regularly in awe of the therapeutic process and the inner strength and potential of my clients. I assist clients in formulating realistic goals, refining them as necessary throughout therapy. New clients can expect an empathetic ear after introductions, a clear description of my practice with guidelines and explanations, and an open Q&A.
